The Coming of our Lord
THE LORD’S COMING
John 14:1-3
“let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my father’s house are many mansions:
if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
The lord’s coming is near, I tell you
Here the bible makes us understand that Jesus is going to prepare a place for us(the believers), but is it every believer that will be part of Jesus’ convoy when he comes to take us.?
The answer is no.
Definitely not all of us.
Now the question
Are you among those he will take?
Are you among those to miss out?
And verse 2 of john 14 says
“in my father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you”
Pause for a while and try to imagine(not that you can really fathom) the place Jesus is preparing for us.
Believe me you will not want to miss out .
But something is involved here.
Jesus is preparing for us. He is preparing greater things than that of this earth.
As Jesus is preparing, are you preparing yourself?
How prepared are you?
Are you still living your life like a beast?
Do you still dwell on alcohol?
Do you still go after women?
Do you still keep malice?
Do you go about bearing grudges?
Do you still possess an unforgiven heart?
Do you heed to every horrible thing that the Christian faith is against?
(There is still time to mend your ways now you are still alive.)
These are not the group of people Jesus is coming to take,
These are not the people he is preparing the mansions for.
Jesus is coming to take the steadfast, the righteous, the humble of heart, those who clothed him when he was naked , those who gave him food when he was hungry, those who forgave others at their wrong doing, those with a contrite heart.
I tell you repent now and be saved.
Jesus doesn’t wish that after preparing the mansion for you, you end up in Hell.
No he doesn’t want that.
He wants you to go with him when he comes.
He wants you to smile.
He doesn’t want you to suffer everlasting agony and pain in hell.
He wants you to be saved that is why He is preparing for you.
Don’t miss out on the lord’s coming
Surrender yourself totally to him.
Give your life to Christ
shalom
