The cross

“who has believed our report?, and whom has the arm of the lord been revealed? For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form of comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and
rejected by men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him, He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken of God and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; And the lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of my people He was stricken. And they made His grave with the wicked-But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth. Yet it pleased the lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When you make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the lord shall prosper in His hand. He shall see the labor of his soul, and be satisfied.  By His knowledge My righteous servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities.  Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for transgressors.” Isaiah 53:1-12

This is a picture of Jesus from the garden of Gethsemane to the cross.
It is clearly and boldly written here.
Jesus a man of sorrow and acquainted with grief, He bore our grief and carried our sorrow.
Jesus the son of God did not consider His equality with the father, but came in the likeness of man.
Jesus didn’t mind what it would cost Him to save us.
Jesus was not looking at Himself, His mind was focused on us.
Jesus was beaten, bruised and wounded for our transgressions, our iniquity.
The chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and by his stripes we are healed.
The iniquity of us all was laid on Him. Jesus who knew no sin became a sin offering. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet did not say a word. You could hear his heart beat shouting LOVE.
Despite all this horrible things He faced, it pleased God to bruise Him. God laid on Him his wrath.
Jesus the son of God, whom God declared “in whom I am well pleased” tasted the wrath of God which was meant for us.
Jesus made a sin offering, with the wrath of God upon Him and the horrors of death hovering around Him. The spotless lamb hung there with darkness clinging to Him.
And there He died, right there on the cross.
It wasn’t the nails that kept Him there on the cross, it was Love.
Every step of the way, His heart cried Love, His soul shouted love, His body endured because of Love.
And He died in Love.
It is finished He said.
He went to hell, stayed three days and nights. Suffered terribly for you and I, and all He could mutter to Himself was because of the love I have for these ones I endure.
And God saw the travail of his soul and was satisfied. And on the third day. Hell shook, the son of God has paid the full price, Hell could not hold Him anymore.
He took away satan’s authority in Hell.
Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
Hallelujah . Christ has overcome.
That whosoever that believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Jesus calls.
God bless you.
