Great Thoughts

Part 1

so the question.

many people frown at it, many are quick to answer it, many turn defensive at the hearing of it, many turn philosopher at it.

are you born again?

yes

how do you know you are born again?

because I was born in a Christian home.
because my father is a reverend.
because I fear God.
because I serve

 and so on.

These are what people say when asked about being a Christian.
But lets look at john the third chapter.

john 3:1-7

1Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him." 3Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." 4Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" 5Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.'

Nicodemus was a Pharisee,  a ruler of the jew and a priest( Pharisees held priestly post)
in our modern day, He will be seem to be the ideal Christian. he had followers, he taught in the synagogue and was grounded in the law.

oh yes He is a Christian.
Well No hes not.

He came to Jesus by night to ask questions in the middle of his pleasantry Jesus address the most important thing lacking in his life.

you have to be born again.
 you must be born again.........

To be continued
