The gospel series part 1
"Mark 16:15-16King James Version (KJV)
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
It is to our advantage to know the truth.
Before I begin I would like to note that there was nothing
like the gospel till Jesus came.
we had only the law, teachings and genealogies.
we had only the law, teachings and genealogies.
Also, I would like to establish that the gospel is
“Christocentric” which means Christ centered.
So when Jesus said go into the world and preach the gospel He meant talk about me, my sufferings, my death and my Resurrection and victory over death.
So we begin on the journey of the gospel.
So when Jesus said go into the world and preach the gospel He meant talk about me, my sufferings, my death and my Resurrection and victory over death.
So we begin on the journey of the gospel.
The journey to the unveiling of the gospel started right
from the garden of Eden, after the fall of man.
God in his infinite wisdom and love drove Adam and Eve out
of Eden, because of the tree of eternal
life which if they had eaten would
remain in sin forever.
Genesis 3:22King James Version (KJV)
22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever
But before Gen 3:22 verse 21 says God killed a lamb skinned it and made clothes for Adam and Eve. (God the first tailor) cool right?, okay lets continue
Now the killing of the lamb was a shadow of the real thing,
if you remember, God told moses to offer sacrifice for their sins, the sacrifice
only covered their sins, it couldn’t remove it. And here in Eden, the lamb was
killed and the skin used to cover them. Selah!
So the dealings of God with men in the old testament was
only a journey to the unveiling of the real thing which was going to redeem
man, and that redemption plan was in Christ Jesus, although most people will argue that it was the real thing, because the dealings was so profound and strict
that anyone around during those days would hardly accept it was only a shadow
of the things to come.(heb 10:1).
